Stress!!

For the past 2 weeks my neck has felt like someone wound up and kicked it as hard as they could. I haven't been able to look to the left, then it switched to the right. Being a firm believer in God's gift to man (a.k.a the Chiropractor) I made an emergency appointment. Only to find out that my neck isn't actually out of place, but that the muscles are spasming because I'm stressed out. I didn't think I was stressed, I'm not usually one to panic or feel stressed about situations. I know that God'll take care of me and my family even if that means providing a cozy box for us to spend the night in :) However, apparently things have finally built up a little high and my neck has decided to express it's dislike for my current situation. Hopefully this'll pass after I pay the government the money they THINK they deserve, and Jon's truck is back in our possession. I know that years down the road I'll look back on these last few months and marvel in the ways that God always provides. But while we're in the midst of these days...it's hard to see the bigger picture. :)

I Suck!

For those of you that know me, you know this about me well....for those of you that don't....I'm not one to follow a recipe. I usually make it up or use a recipe as a guideline. I have never had something not turn out. My odd creations always taste alright if not pretty darn good (if I must say so myself). Until tonight. I started supper at 4:30. I was just going to do a type of goulash with random things thrown into it....sorta like a make-shift casserole. It started with brown rice, which I've made before without a problem. I actually follow the directions for rice. I decided to do it in broth instead of just water. I set the timer for 50 minutes, but checked on it about 40 minutes later. Good thing I did because my rice was stuck to the bottom of my pot. At this point things were still ok. It wasn't burnt, just very brown in some spots but still salvageable. So I proceeded to toss in my random things and let it simmer.....this is where I went wrong. 10 minutes later my rice sunk to the bottom and burnt to a crisp.
Good thing I caught Jon on his way home from work......tonight is Pizza Night! :)

Punk baby

Today while shopping in Costco Isaiah was in his car seat in the back of the cart. As we were walking towards a mom with her two boys, the older boy (who was maybe 5) was excitedly stating "Mommy, Mommy a BABY!" Then as we walked past his excitement changed to shock as he loudly proclaimed "MOMMY, THAT BABY HAS A MOHAWK!!!".
