Pampered Chef

I might as well just sell the stuff. I own a LOT of their cooking tools, and I LOVE every single one of them. I just went to a Pampered Chef party (at Jen's house) in the beginning of Feb. Now I'm having a party of my own. If anyone wants to come....please do. It's going to be at my house on March 9 at 7:00pm. There's going to be food and lot's of visiting. So if you're looking for an excuse for a night out, please join us.

Well, I haven't really been doing anything new since the last time I wrote. I'm still VERY excited to go to the Ladies Retreat, and I'm trying to get Leanne to go with us...Leanne...you know you want to come. Other than that nothing much has changed. The snow is absolutely beautiful! I wish that I would have had time today to take Brie and Micah outside to play in it. Hopefully it'll be nice tomorrow afternoon so I can make some snow angels with Brie.

That's about it for now. I'm going to go sit with Jon...he's home this evening so I'd better go take advantage of that fact.

SABC Ladies Retreat 2006

I am SO excited. There is a Ladies Retreat held at SABC (Southern Alberta Bible Camp) every year, and it's coming up March 31 - April 2. For those of you that live near here (or even if you don't and you want to come), you should REALLY come to it.
I've gone every year since I was pregnant with Brielle, it's a lot of fun. I really enjoy the time that you get to spend with other ladies in fellowship, and learning more about God. Every year that I've gone I've come away from it feeling rejuvenated, and closer to God. It's really a time to get away from everything going on around you and just spend some quality time with God and other women. I VERY much enjoy it, and highly recommend it. This year is a special year!! Both my sisters and my mom are going to be going as well. I can't wait. That's happened ONE other year when I went, and we had an absolute blast.
It's still a little ways away, but I just sent in my registration form and can't stop thinking about it. Anyways, things have been going pretty good around here. I'm VERY happy to say that Jon and Darren are on there LAST night of working on the truck (for awhile anyways....until they break something, which is bound to happen). Jon's getting a safety done on it tomorrow, and then I GET MY TRUCK BACK!!!! I am definitely looking forward to that! It hasn't really been all that easy not having my truck to use whenever I want!!! But not anymore! After this weekend it will officially be MY truck again. Man Oh Man am I ever going to give it a very detailed cleaning. It is so incredibly filthy, inside and out. Two months of being Jon's work truck has reeked havoc on my poor little truck. It's full of dirt, and sawdust....and doesn't smell the greatest anymore. Definitely needs a good cleaning.
Well, now that you know what my weekend is going to entail, I'm sure that you're going to enjoy your weekend all that much more....haha. Have a GREAT weekend everyone!

I'm slowly thawing out

O.k. it's not so cold now. It's still below zero, but It's back to where you can run out in a sweater if you're not going out for long. It still might seem cold to some of you, but I'm personally enjoying this weather. Not because it's cold but because it means that spring is on it's way. It makes me appreciate the warm weather of spring and summer all that much more.
Well, tomorrow is family day! Jon is going to be working. So it's just me and the kids. I've actually made a few plans that I'm kind of excited about. Jon's mom is going to be home tomorrow (she's always home Mon. & Tues. now with their new job). We are thinking about going out for lunch to "Tea and Time Emporium" ...if they're open... which they are, I had to call and find out. Then we're going to go see "8 below", without Micah of course. He's turned into to much of a screamer to bring anywhere that he might need to be quite. It's always happy screaming, but for some reason people don't like it Haha. Anyways, after that we were thinking of doing a little shopping. It'll be nice to get to be with Iris a little. Even though she's been home more lately, I haven't really gotten to spend any more time with her than I did before. It's just going to be nice to have a day to spend with her. I'm very blessed to have such a wonderful Mother-in-law (I don't even think of her that way, she's more like a friend or a mother #2). I watch shows like "Everybody Loves Raymond" and I just want to give her a big hug, and tell her how much I love her. She's very much the opposite to "Marie" on that show. Anyways, enough bragging about Iris. I hope that you all have a GREAT Family day. Make sure that you do something with your families, and let them know just how much they mean to you.

It's FREEZING!!!

I can't believe how much the weather has changed in a matter of a few days. It was decent outside on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday night is when it all started. Jon didn't go to work yesterday or today (which I don't blame him, I haven't even left the house). Yesterday morning was -40 with windchill, and today it's -36. I think if Jon would have gone to work he definitally would have come home part icicle. For those of you that don't know, Jon is a framer. He builds houses OUTSIDE!! Brrr....

Well, Kelly's coming home again this weekend. I'm very excited. Monday is family day, so it'll be nice to have her here for that. My parents are going to be skiing at Panarama, so I'm not sure what we're going to be doing. Jon's going to be working (unless it's -40 again). Well, we'll think of something I'm sure. OH, I finally watched Napolean Dynamite. Certainly didn't live up to my expectations, but it was funny. I'll have to watch it again with Kelly. I watched it by myself the first time...I had no choice. The only person that would watch it with me was Kelly, and she was in Edmonton. Anyways, I now get all the dumb one liners that people are always saying from that movie. Well, my Micah is getting hungry. So I need to get back to my motherly duties. Have a GREAT weekend and spend time with your family on Monday!

For your enjoyment

Well everyone. I just got thinking that we could all use a good laugh (even if it IS going to be at my expence). Then I remembered an e-mail that I sent to Kelly a while ago, and I thought that you'd all enjoy it. So here it is.

Kelly,
Hey there, I'm sorry that I wasn't around to say good-bye to you yesterday. If I would have known that I wasn't going to see you, I would have said good-bye to you at church! Anyways, I can't believe that e-mail that you sent me. That is totally strange. I actually was able to read it just as fast as I would have been able to had it all been spelled correctly! I'll have to show it to Jon as well. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME TODAY!!! I was killing myself laughing, and thinking "Man Kelly needs to be here. She would think that this was really funny to, and then I'd have someone to laugh with instead of sitting here laughing all by myself". What happened was this... I dropped B off at mom and dad's today around noon, so I could do some grocery shopping. I didn't want to take B with me because she's REALLY cranky today, and keeps bursting into tears for no apparent reason. Then I headed off to Sobey's to get some groceries. When I was done there I thought it would be nice to wash my car, because it was FILTHY!!!!! So, off I went to Canadian Tire to get gas and purchase a car wash. I paid for my car wash, drove up to the door, punched in my code, and off I went to let the machines wash my car for me. WELL, the water started to spray at the front of my car and work it's way around. I was just patiently sitting there when I suddenly realized that I WAS GETTING WET AS WELL. I quickly grabbed for the handle to roll the drivers side window up thinking I had forgotten to after punching in my car wash code. To my utter confusion the window WAS up. I have no idea where the water was coming in from. I quickly looked over to the passenger side and realized that it was even WORSE, resulting in a soaking wet purse! I grabbed my purse and threw it into B's car seat in the back. As I sat there calmly waiting for the car wash to be over so that I could leave, as I could not drive out until the machines stopped. I heard a rushing water sound...not the normal sound of the water on the OUTSIDE of the vehicle. As I started to look around trying desperately to figure out where it was coming from...not that I could stop it from coming in anyways. I realized that it was pouring in through the hole in our door where the speakers normally are. Now that's pretty much when I lost it and could do nothing but laugh myself hysterically into tears, and wish that you were there to share in this crazy experience! Oh, and I'm not done yet. The washing part of the car wash was finally over, and now it was time for the dryers!!!! As I started heading out of the building the dryers blowing down HARD on my poor little car. I started thinking about the cracks in my windshield, wondering if they would be able to with stand the pressures of the dryers. All of a sudden I hear a thump, thump. The roof of my car was now closer to my head than it was a few seconds ago. Needless to say, I didn't stay under those dryers nearly long enough to let them dry my vehicle. Through tear clouded eyes I laughed my way to mom and dad's house to get Brielle. Once at home, I started unloading the groceries from the car and realized that one of the bags was a little wet, aparantly the water dripped in the trunk as well. Unfortunitally it was the ONLY bag with boxes in it. Every other bag had cans or bags in it. I started to unload the Kraft Dinner boxes from the wet bag and place them upside down on the counter so that the wet bottoms could dry. I picked up a box and pulled it out of the bag, as I did so the bottom burst open and dry kraft dinner noodles went flying all over the floor in the kitchen. What a day hey! I'm pleased to say that nothing has happened since then, hopefully my evening goes smoother that the beginning of my day. Well, Jon's looking to use the computer, so I'm going to have to get off. I'll talk to you again soon. Already miss you, and look forward to seeing you at easter.I hope my day is as much of a comic relief for you as it was for me. You should save this e-mail so that you can read it again for a
good laugh during stressful school days.
Love you lot's,
Abbey

I hope that you all enjoyed reading about my CRAZY car wash experience. Here's a picture of the kind of car I was driving (it wasn't this exact one though...I couldn't find a picture of our little car). However, it looked very similar to this. Just picture this car in the color red. Asides from the car wash experience, this was a VERY good little car.
Enjoy everyone!

Sad day

Well, Kelly went back to Edmonton yesterday afternoon. It once again feels strange to not have her here. I have to constantly stop myself from reaching for the phone and asking her what she's up to, and if she wants to come over. It's a little more than just a five minute drive for her now HaHaHa. Unfortunitally I have to say that I still have not watched Napolean Dynamite. Kelly and I decided to see something else that night. However, she did leave it here with me. So at some point this week I will watch it.
Anyways, things are going pretty well. I'm a little busy this week though. Jen's working Mon-Thurs. which means that I'm working as well. I also have some stuff that needs to be done for the nursery. Kevin and I are trying to plan a Nursery "training" meeting for the beginning of March, so I have a bit to do for that. Everything seems to be going pretty good at the moment though. I'm very excited that Jon's almost done the truck. He said that it should be done and ready to be safety'd this weekend. I think that that's excellent. I've missed having him around quite a bit. I've posted a few pictures from the BEGINNING of the truck project at http://spaces.msn.com/kehlerfamily so feel free to check those out. I'll get a few more pictures tonight and add them as well.
Well, I have a few things that I should be doing before the kids all wake up from their naps.
I hope you all have a GREAT morning/afternoon/evening (which ever it happens to be when you're reading this).

Sister, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters...

Well...it's your lucky day. You're getting two for one! Kelly's here!!!!! We're not really doing anything well worth reading about. Tonight I'm going to become a part of the "Napoleon Dynamite" viewing clan. I have not been privileged enough to have seen it yet, so tomorrow I'll give you an update on what I thought. Kelly owns the movie, and has brought it with her....good times. And no I did not buy it for myself, Kim L. bought it for me for Christmas...but I won't deny the fact that I am thrilled...that movie is always good for a laugh or two. Well, Kelly's being summoned by some children waking up from their naps. Have a great evening everyone. Check again tomorrow to see what I thought about "Napolean Dynamite". I've heard that it's VERY funny...so it has a lot to live up to.

Silly Internet

Well, just the other day, I came to blogger and wrote a long blog. I clicked on the "Publish Post" button and it said that it posted it. Then when I tried to view my blog it would no longer let me into it. How ridiculous. Now that I can finally get into my blog, I find that it never did post the nice long blog that I had written a few days ago. So, I'll let you know the basics of what I had previously written. I wanted to thank everyone for keeping me in their prayers. My mood has changed drastically. I'm not sure EXACTLY what my problem was, but it no longer seems an issue. My sister declared a girls night on me the other night. She came over with munchies, movies, and wine. We put the girls to bed (Micah decided that he didn't want to miss out on the movies and crackers his Auntie had brought over), and sat down to watch a movie. It turned out to be kind of a disappointment (the movie that is), but the night was nice. I enjoyed the time that I got to spend with my sister. It seems like the only time I really see her lately is when she's either dropping Hayden off or picking her up. It was nice to have some company in the evening. I can't wait until Jon and Darren are finished working on the truck. It'll be nice to have adult company in the evenings again.
The movie that we watched was "Oliver Twist". I highly recommend renting the original movie instead of the new one. The new one was o.k. The main problem I found with it is that they take out all the singing. That's like removing the songs in "Annie", or "The sound of music" ha ha. It just seems to lack an important part. The movie is just not the same. Anyways, I'm doing much better and just wanted to thank you all for praying for me. It means a lot to me to know that I have people out there keeping me in their thoughts and prayers. Well, I have to go feed Micah. He seems to have woken up ravenously hungry.

Prayer Request

I just want to ask that you all keep me in your prayers. I'm not sure why but I've been extremely irritable lately, and have found that I have a really short fuse when it comes to Brielle and Hayden. It normally takes quite a bit to get me agitated, but the last few days I feel like I've been wanting to scream all day long. I've been doing my best to be calm with Brie and I know that my attitude doesn't help hers any. I really don't want to be a stumbling block for anyone, especially my own children. Please pray that I God would give me an attitude adjustment. Thanx

Footprints Poem

O.k. it occured to me that some of you may not know the Footprints poem, so I thought that I'd post it in my Blog for you. Here it is:
Footprints
One night a man had a dream. He dreamt that he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."
The LORD replied, "My son, My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
- Annonymous
I'm not really sure who wrote this poem...does anyone know? Anyways, I love that poem because it's a GREAT reminder that we don't need to try to deal with the hard times all by ourselves. God's there to carry us through. We're supposed to hand our burdens over to him. It's not always an easy thing to do, for some reason we always want to try to deal with it by ourselves first. You think we'd learn that it's much easier to just give it to God in the first place. That's something that I definitally need to work on.

I've Conformed

Well, even though I've been in the world of Blogging for a little while now. I'm now a member of the "Blogspot". It just seemed easier for me to be where everyone else was!!! How horrible is that. In the words of Jen "I am a sheep". Well, I think I'm going to like it here although I'll still keep my other site as well. I have that one figured out already, this one might take me a little while. I'll keep my photos and such updated on my other site so go ahead and check them both. For those of you that don't know, the other address is http://spaces.msn.com/kehlerfamily I've been doing VERY well at keeping it updated (KELLY!!), and will continue to do so. Now I have two places to write...should prove to be interesting.
