Life is Busy

Wow. I can't believe that the summer is half over already. Being the heat lover that I am, I find that terribly sad. I'm going to enjoy every day of the warm weather that we have left and try to soak in the sun as much as possible. Maybe then the fall and winter won't be to terrible....oh who'm I kidding....
Our summer days so far have been filled with visiting family, playing at the beach, boating, picnics at the park, drinking real iced tea in the hot sun, stampeding, a surprise birthday party (Jen's 30th), a wedding (Kara and Rob...congrats), and VBS. We still have more family visiting to look forward to, some camping trips, and school to get ready for. THAT'S RIGHT I said SCHOOL. I can't believe I'm going to be one of those mom's that has to get their child ready for school. Brielle is going to start Kindergarten in the fall. The poor kid is going to be taught by me at home though. Along with my niece (I don't think my sister remembers my grades in school growing up, otherwise she probably wouldn't let me teach her child too). The last couple of weeks of August are going to be dedicated to getting ready for school. I am hoping to turn our basement into a classroom of sorts. We'll see if that happens or not, but regardless of whether or not I have a designated room...I'm teaching 2 children come September. I'm a little nervous about this. I have no idea where to start. What am I supposed to teach them every day? Is there a book I do stuff out of, or am I supposed to just make it up as I go along? These are all questions that I'm going to find the answers to in the next month. Yikes. Pray for B and Hayden...HaHaHa.

Mmm....Food

After weeks of having a screaming child at EVERY meal. I decided today to give him some food of his own. I know it's a bit early (he's 5 and a bit months old, you're not supposed to start them on solids until 6 months). However, I'm tired of trying to settle him while my food gets cold. So, while I was at the grocery store this afternoon I picked up a couple boxes of rice cereal. I have just finished giving him his first large tbsp of cereal. He loved it!!!!! I couldn't shovel it in his mouth fast enough. I actually had to pin his arms down while I brought the spoon to his mouth because he kept grabbing the spoon frantically, thinking I wasn't doing it quick enough.
I'm hoping this will stop the meal time fits.......we'll find out tonight. :)
