24 hour bug

Wow! That was an intense 24 hours. I'm VERY thankful that that's ALL it was. Jon and I are the only ones that got sick (thank the Lord), and we're completely over it. I think I'm still catching up on sleep though. The one good thing that it did for us was it got me moving to get everything ready for when the baby arrives. (No more shoving stuff into the baby's car seat at the last possible moment). I now have a VERY cute diaper bag. Obviously not a picture of me, but it's the only picture I could find of the diaper bag I bought.

I was also able to pick out my rocking chair with Jen yesterday. I haven't set it up yet (or rather Jon hasn't), but it should be all put together tonight. So a HUGE thank-you to all of you who are pitching in for my rocking chair. I appreciate it like crazy. I sat in it in the store and I know that it's going to be way more comfortable at 3am than sitting up in my bed leaning against the wall trying to feed the baby. I'm very much looking forward to the luxury of a rocking chair. In case you're interested this is the one you all bought me....

It's slightly darker than this one. I love it and am very excited to use it. Now all we need is the baby. Any day now would be just great according to me. I still have 3(ish) weeks left, but hopefully it comes early (isn't that always the dream). I was 5-7 days late with my first 2 so I'm not actually counting on it....but a girl can dream can't she. :)

Fluids and Buckets

Here I sit. With a bucket on one side of me and a drink on the other not sure what to do, but I had to get away from the view of my room from my bed. Yesterday around supper time I started feeling achy, my back hurt, my stomach hurt, you get the picture. I have been attacked by the flu virus, actually everyone in my family except for Brielle is being attacked by it. Last night Jon and I ended up making a trip to the hospital because my throwing up made my body go into fits of contractions. We tried to wait it out, fully expecting that it wasn't going to be anything and they'd just send us home. 4-5 hours later Adam's at our house and Jon and I are on our way to the hospital because I was getting constant contractions that were now 2-3 minutes apart. As we predicted, we were sent home and I was told that I was just really dehydrated and needed to drink a bunch then they should go away. Which they did after another few hours. The puking however, never stopped. Jon was fine until a few hours ago, and Micah woke up sick this morning. Thankfully Micah hasn't been puking, he just slept ALL morning long and when he was awake would beg us to snuggle him. Now our very sweet 4 year old is basically babysitting our 2 year old. Jon and I were both confined to our bed (it's the closest to the bathroom) while I heard Micah saying "Mommy, I'm all done" (he was sitting at the table eating lunch) and then I promptly heard Brielle say "You need to ask me if you can get down". I just smiled and let her take care of her little brother. Thank the Lord for independent children, who don't get into trouble when they're left to fend for themselves for awhile.
Anyways, it's been almost 24 hours since I was first attacked and I'm starting to feel human again. Hopefully I haven't just jinxed myself.

How was everyone's Christmas?
Our Christmas was really good. We went to Manitoba for Christmas to spend it with Jon's extended family. All his Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins live in the Portage La Prairie area. It was fun. We stayed with his Uncle Arch and Auntie Dianne. Jon and the kids enjoyed playing in the snow (which was waist deep on the kids). They loved it, since we don't get snow like that out here. Jon built them a little fort, tossed them into the snow causing them to disappear in a puff of white and pulled them around on a GT snow racer. Jon also did a little bit of rabbit hunting :), sledding and quading.
It's nice to be home now though. We had a New Years eve party at our house, and enjoyed food and games until the wee hours of the morning.
What did you all do for your New Years?? And do you have any New Years resolutions?
