My Dad just informed me (via text message...my Dad's hilarious) that he won GOLD in the Friars Briar. Which is a curling tournament for those of you that are like me and don't really follow these things. Yay for him! I'm so proud.
Also, I'm enjoying really good hummus right now. Just thought I'd share the recipe.
2 cans garbanzo beans (a.k.a chick peas)
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/3 c. tahini paste (sesame seed paste, found near the peanut butter)
3 green onions, chopped
5-6 garlic cloves
2 tbsp soy sauce
Salt, Pepper and Cayenne pepper to taste
Add everything to a food processor and process until smooth. Enjoy!
In other news...Isaiah has been sick for 4 out of 5 weeks of his life so far. Not cool. It's really starting to wear on me (and him, I'm sure he's wishing he could be back in the womb right now). As far as we can tell he has reflux and a really bad cold at the moment. He's on medication for the Reflux (which is basically a fancy way of saying heartburn), which seems to have helped immensely. Although he's still waking up a million times a night and hacking up a lung. Hopefully he'll be better soon. I'd love to have more than an hour sleep at a time. Any breastfeeding moms out there that want to take him for a night? :)
For those of you that haven't joined the cult known as facebook. Here's an updated picture of my sick little baby.
