My Dad just informed me (via text message...my Dad's hilarious) that he won GOLD in the Friars Briar. Which is a curling tournament for those of you that are like me and don't really follow these things. Yay for him! I'm so proud.
Also, I'm enjoying really good hummus right now. Just thought I'd share the recipe.
2 cans garbanzo beans (a.k.a chick peas)
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/3 c. tahini paste (sesame seed paste, found near the peanut butter)
3 green onions, chopped
5-6 garlic cloves
2 tbsp soy sauce
Salt, Pepper and Cayenne pepper to taste
Add everything to a food processor and process until smooth. Enjoy!
In other news...Isaiah has been sick for 4 out of 5 weeks of his life so far. Not cool. It's really starting to wear on me (and him, I'm sure he's wishing he could be back in the womb right now). As far as we can tell he has reflux and a really bad cold at the moment. He's on medication for the Reflux (which is basically a fancy way of saying heartburn), which seems to have helped immensely. Although he's still waking up a million times a night and hacking up a lung. Hopefully he'll be better soon. I'd love to have more than an hour sleep at a time. Any breastfeeding moms out there that want to take him for a night? :)
For those of you that haven't joined the cult known as facebook. Here's an updated picture of my sick little baby.

Abbey, he is super cute. Even if he is sick. I don't want to trade, but I'll think/pray for you and your family. Side note, I'm not breastfeeding so that might prove to be a challenge.
Hi Abbey, I also love HUMMUS! I out it on anything:) Have you tried chiropractic for Isahia? Hunter was breach and I started him at 4 weeks and it did a whirl of good. He also had bad reflux and once he was under a regiment at the chiro's he was cured! Talk with Paul Hiche about it, I am sure he would help out. I was not a believer of kids chiro until then either. I researched alot and I am a believer know. Just a wrong sleep, posture, roll, and especially womb and birth throws the alignment out and this reaks havic on everything in our bodies. Good luck!
MY great friend Les Gurr, who is an MD and a chinese medicine lady, does acupuncture (she owns her own natural clinic in Kennsington with naturo's, homeos, etc) She does see clients Thursday night from her home 2 blocks from me. This may help also, not sure with age and acupuncture though. Her name is Leslie Gurr----510-7320 (cell). Tell her you know me:) I trust her judgment with my life!

Isaiah has his third Chiro appointment this morning. I'm not sure if it's really helping or not. I didn't give him his medication last night and I'm not going to for a couple of days (I want to see if the Chiro's helping). Also, the last two nights he's been sleeping half decent. He's been waking up every 3 hours rather than every 1 which has been nice. Hopefully this means things are improving. Oh, and I wasn't really sure how I felt about Chiro on newborns, but acupuncture I would have a problem with. He's been through enough in his 6 weeks of life. :)
Get well, Isaiah. Will pray!
Just happened across your blog through Marlene's...will be praying for you...I had a daughter with reflux, so I understand.

P.S. Please say Hi to Marlene for me...we are cousins and I know she doesn't allow anonymous comments on her blog....thanks.
