A Day at the Lake!

Monday we all went to Little Bow Lake. My Mom and Dad, Jen and Hayden, Kelly, Myself and the kids, and Darrell Pitts and his kids. We had a lot of fun. My Dad drove the motor home down so that we could all go in one vehicle and hauled the boat out there too. It was a beautiful day! It wasn't too hot and it wasn't even the least bit chilly either. We went out on the boat a few times but mostly we just hung out on the beach and let the kids play. They had a blast. The water was freezing cold but that didn't seem to matter to them at all.

Micah really enjoyed playing in the sand. I think his favorite thing to do was to fill his big sisters shoes up with sand and then dump it into this cup. Here he's trying to fit his foot in the cup along with the sand.

Here is a picture of Micah enjoying some watermelon. We didn't have a knife down on the beach with us (and were to lazy to go to the motor home to get one) so we just dug at it with a fork. Micah was quite enjoying just chomping down on it.

You can't go to Little Bow Lake without a visit to the ice cream shop before you leave. Brielle just finished a rolo ice cream. The cone was made completely of chocolate which made for a nice mess. We all enjoyed our day at the lake VERY much. It just made me even more excited for our trip to Shuswap this summer. I hope you all had a GREAT long weekend as well.

Pictures....as promised.

OK. Here are a few pictures that I've taken with my camera.
This is Brie playing on the computer that she got for her birthday from her Nana and Papa.

This is Micah, drinking his bottle before his nap. He got his face painted at the Mothers Day lunch at the church. It says I heart mom.

This is Brie and Micah playing at the park right near our house.

This is just a close up picture of a pine cone.
I was just playing with my camera.

An early Mothers Day

This morning I woke up all refreshed thinking to myself..."man, I wonder what time it is." So I roll over and glance at the clock...9:00am...WHAT! I slept in. Seconds later, Jon comes into the room with a smirk on his face. "You let me sleep in" I said to him. "Yep" was his reply. He then layed on the bed beside me, kissed my forehead and said "The kids are gone too". He must have read the confusion on my face because he then explained himself. Sheepishly he said "I lied to you, I'm not going to work on my truck today, I have plans for just you and me. I've had it planned for weeks." How could I be mad about his lie now?? So I got up and got ready for the day. Adam came and picked the kids up to take them to Lets Play, and Campers Village (there's a big sale today). He took them in our truck and left us his bike. So Jon and I got to go for a little bike ride today (motorbike that is). We drove into Calgary (on the bike) and went to Ricky's for breakfast, well ok it was more brunch than breakfast. After that we went to Future Shop and I got to pick out.........ohh the suspense.......a camera! YIPEE!! So now I finally have my own camera. We then met Adam and the kids at campers village and got some free stuff (shine fm was there today and giving away carabiners, balloons, food, and ice cream coupons for Marble Slab....Mmm...). Well, that was my "Early Mothers Day". I just wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate and love my adorable husband. He treats me like a queen. He loves and adores me much more than I deserve and I thank God for him EVERY day.
Happy Mothers Day to all you Mothers out there. I hope you all have a wonderful day and feel VERY appreciated.
p.s. Be prepared to see many pictures of my family now. :)

OK here's some pictures for you from our camping trip.

First things first...we put the girls straight to work. For those of you that don't know...the Blonde is my daughter, the Brunette is my niece.

The next morning Jon made us sausage and eggers over the fire. The girls are enjoying theirs, while sharing a log for a seat.

Micah Micah. In case you can't see it...his shirt says "OFF - ROADER". I found it very fitting for a camping trip at Indian Graves, which is ALL 4x4ing terrain.

OH!!! And he kinda crawls. I think he just figured it out today. He used to pull himself around with his arms, not moving his legs at all which resulted in him moving VERY slowly. But just 5 seconds ago I saw him crawling. He was still using mostly arms to get around, but the legs were starting to help as well. It's funny to watch. He used to keep his right leg bent in front of him (with his foot touching his left knee) and drag his legs. I don't know why he did that. I tried many times to show him how to use his legs to help him, but he'd have non of it. He'd put his head down on the ground and cry. Whatever. I guess it doesn't matter HOW he does it, just that he CAN do it.

OK, this isn't the greatest picture. It doesn't really seem as nice in the picture. Anyways, this is the view from our campsite. right below Jon and I there's a river and a beaver dam actually. I don't think beavers ever sleep. We watched them all day and then they were still working away all night to. Believe me, I know. I was awake right along with them. My ice cold feet were keeping me awake. So I would periodically hear their banging and splashing.

OK, this is the last picture I have to post for now. This is Brielle and Jon. Brie's flying her new kite (compliments of Nana & Papa). This was her first time flying a kite EVER, and you wouldn't have known it from watching her. She did great. When it started to fall she'd start running the other direction (not stopping until we told her to, but still very cute). Her kite, of course, is a Dora kite.

Well, I'm off to put Micah to bed. It's past his bed time and starting to show. Hope you all enjoy the few pictures. They're compliments of Jen, as I have yet to get my own camera. Soon hopefully, and then you'll be asking me to STOP posting pictures of my adorable children.

Sorry

I know...I really need to get my butt in gear and write something new. I just don't have anything exciting to write about (not that I ever really do).
An update about Jon...He's doing well. He took a week off work and actually seemed to be getting a bit worse. We went camping on the weekend and of course he had to go 4x4ing with my brother-in-law. He wasn't able to move his left arm because the muscles were getting so tight they were pinching some nerves. However, he decided to go anyways. Low and behold...they got stuck (big shocker eh? Ha Ha). So Jon, with his immobile arm, got out to help push, pull, dig, etc. Completely unexpectedly it loosened him right up. After that he was feeling great (well, way better anyways), he was able to move his arm without pain. So he's back at work now. He went back Monday.
Jon just doesn't heal sitting still. He broke his collar bone and was back at work less than a week later, working with a sling on. The man just can't sit still. God has definitely blessed him with a body that heals insanely quickly. Which he needs Ha Ha. After the 1500lb wall fell onto his back, he didn't even have a single bruise! He had two abrasions across his shoulders. The one was about the size of my fist, and three days later was the size of my thumb. I'm not kidding. It's crazy. God knew he'd be needing that special ability.
Anyways, all is pretty quiet around my house lately (not literally...have any of you met my kids?). We're all doing pretty good. I'm busy with Nursery stuff and getting ready for Brielle's 3rd birthday. Yes, you read right...she's turning 3 on May 11. We're taking her and Hayden to the Zoo on Saturday May 6. Along with Uncle Bomb (Jon's brother Adam), Auntie Leanne (Jon's cousin) and Bumpa & Gramma (My mom & dad). So I'm praying for nice weather.
Well, my "nothing to say" has turned into quite a bit. Apparently I can make a lot out of nothing. Ha Ha. Oh man...I must be tired. I have that stupidness going on in my mind. You know, when you start thinking really crazily. Kelly knows what I mean. I know she does. Even if she won't admit to it. OK, I'm going to stop before I say something really strange. :)
